Editorial Methodology

Our first collection consists of research-based equipment and preparation guides. Each article starts with a practical reader question, provides a clear decision process, and links to the sources used for its factual guidance.

We use official public agencies, activity organizations, equipment instructions and identified first-party guidance where relevant. Manufacturer or retailer guidance is considered in context; a commercial source does not by itself justify endorsing its products.

The initial articles were prepared with AI-assisted drafting and source checking. We distinguish this source-based work from specialist review and hands-on product testing. For safety-related decisions, follow current activity-provider rules and equipment instructions and seek qualified instruction.

We do not claim hands-on testing for these guides. No product stars, laboratory results, prices, merchant relationships or author credentials have been invented. An eventual hands-on review should explain what was tested, by whom, in what conditions, and with what limitations.

Source-check dates describe the research work performed. Product instructions, access rules and activity requirements can change, so readers should verify the current requirements relevant to their trip. We aim to correct material errors and recheck sources when relevant guidance changes.
